    Descrizione principale

From a diachronic and multi-disciplinary perspective, the contributions to the miscellany Alterhabilitas – Perception of Disability among People, explore the social and cultural dynamics that underlie the construction and evolution of the concept of disability, which is not immutable in time and space, but is instead subject to multiple factors and different levels of analysis. Paying particular attention to the socio-historical reference contexts, the authors identify an ample number of questions and problématiques relating to disabled persons and their inclusion or exclusion in various societies. The volume offers the reader multiple reading keys which are always able to stimulate new questions about the perception of the “other” and about self-representation.
