Introduzione o prefazione
Il potere sociale comporta la capacità d'influenzare gli altri ed e importante in ogni relazione umana. Questo articolo passa in rassegna piu di 50 anni di ricerca ispirati all'Interpersonal Power Interational Model (IPIM) di French e Raven, una teoria generale sul potere sociale. Il modello originale di French e Raven (1959) postulava sei basi del potere: ricompensa, coercizione, legittimo esperto, riferimento e dell'informazione (o persuasione, Raven 1965). Da allora, come risultato di un notevole impegno nella ricerca, il modello ha subito sviluppi significativi e ora ne ha undici. Questo contributo analizza le dinamiche coinvolte nel rapporto di potere e il ruolo centrale della scala Interpersonal Power Inventory (IPI), uno dei piu potenti predittori del potere interpersonale, infine analizza alcune delle piu importanti questioni teoriche poste dall'IPIM.
