Abstract/Hauptbeschreibung (Italienisch)
Abstract/Hauptbeschreibung (Englisch)
This article offers an updated overview of the current textual state of Ambrogio Traversari’s epistles. It begins by examining the two eighteenth-century printed editions, shedding light on their structure, content, and origin. Next, it explores the manuscript tradition, proposing a classification into three groups based on the content organization of the manuscript witnesses. Within each group, the most historically and philologically significant witnesses or clusters are highlighted, with detailed information on their structural, content-related, and historical characteristics. Finally, two appendices provide lists of the printed editions of Traversari’s letters and their manuscript witnesses
