Vorwort
La popolazione costituita da persone anziane lesbiche, gay, bisessuali e transgender (LGBT) non ha ricevuto la dovuta attenzione nella letteratura scientifica e nella ricerca gerontologica, specie in Italia. Questa mancanza rappresenta solo un aspetto di una condizione più generale di invisibilità sociale che grava su questa popolazione. Il presente contributo intende offrire al lettore una rassegna dei lavori che, principalmente nel contesto statunitense, hanno messo in luce le esperienze di stigmatizzazione, discriminazione e vittimizzazione vissute e percepite da questa popolazione. L'ottica d'indagine adottata è quella fornita dalla prospettiva del minority stress che offre una panoramica dei fattori di rischio e di protezione per la salute psicofisica dei gruppi minoritari. La presente rassegna ha considerato gli studi condotti con metodi quantitativi, qualitativi e misti, a partire dal 2000. Seguendo la prospettiva sopra descritta, i risultati sono presentati in due sezioni: la prima centrata sulle differenti forme di stigma che gravano sulle persone anziane LGBT e la seconda sugli esiti di salute psico-fisica e sui fattori protettivi utilizzati da questa popolazione. L'applicazione di questa prospettiva alla popolazione anziana LGBT offre ai ricercatori e agli operatori del sistema sociosanitario una chiave di lettura psicosociale e clinica del fenomeno. Sono infine discusse le principali raccomandazioni di ricerca.
