Vorwort
Il saggio propone una riflessione sul ruolo che il teatro e l'arte performativa possono giocare nella produzione di una rappresentazione dei migranti e delle migrazioni "altra" rispetto al frame emergenziale, ora umanitario e ora securitario, alimentato dalle pratiche discorsive veicolate dai media e dalla retorica politica europea. Le immagini sensazionaliste e stereotipate di migranti e rifugiati mostrate quotidianamente dai media veicolano immaginari sociali in cui questi vengono spettacolarizzati come soggetti e oggetti di paura, "vittime di tragedie emergenziali", "potenziali criminali", "invasori" senza nome. Una retorica dominante che cristallizza gli squilibri di potere tra chi ha la possibilità di narrare e chi è costretto a essere narrato, perpetuando una prospettiva eurocentrica che legittima la distanza geografica e morale tra noi - europei, soggetti agenti - e loro - stranieri, oggetti passivi dei trafficanti o del nostro aiuto. Muovendo da una riflessione più generale sul ruolo sociale, politico e simbolico dell'arte come strumento di decostruzione delle narrative dominanti, il saggio presenta i risultati di un progetto europeo, Atlas of Transitions, che mira a promuovere rappresentazioni alternative sulla migra-zione attraverso la sperimentazione di nuovi linguaggi, spazi di convivialità e di autoespressione innovativi.
