Main description (English)

The contribution introduces results of archaeological studies about the urban topography of Subiaco in the Middle Ages. They have been analyzed sources of various type: documents of the archives of St. Scolastica monastery, ancient papers, historical and modern stacks. Then they have been studied masonries of the urban structures. The result is the reconstruction of the topographical history ot the small city mails in the Aniene’ valley, important for the presence of the famous Benedictine monastery. The inhabited centre, the fortifications, the churches, the handicraft places of job and structures have been reconstructed.
